Hundreds of tributes left to 23-year-old on Facebook group

A 23-year-old man killed in a collision involving a rubbish truck in Willesden yesterday morning (Wednesday) has been named

Yousef Zayni, of Preston Road, Wembley died at the scene in Sapcote Trading Estate in Dudden Hill Lane, at around 9.30am.

An inquest at Barnet Coroners Court, which was opened and adjourned this morning, heard he died from severe head injuries.

The driver of the truck was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

He was taken to a north London police station and bailed to return on a date in April 2012 pending further enquiries.

Hundreds of tributes have been left for the former Brunel University student in a Facebook group set up in his memory.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witness the collision to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Chris Osborne, senior investigating officer said: “This collision happened at a busy time and although this is a private trading estate we know a lot of people use it as a cut through to Willesden High Road.

“If anyone saw what happened or can tell us anything about the incident please call us”.

Witnesses are asked to call the road death investigation unit on 020 8998 5319.
