A Wembley barber has swapped his shavers for a pen to release a book that aims to educate people on cancer research.

Devon Morgan of Chalkhill Road, put pen to paper to help people understand complex research by various scientists and doctors on the deadly disease.

The 50-year-old was inspired to write the book following the death of his aunt who died of the disease two years ago aged 74.

He said: “I would like people to know cancer can be reversed without using drugs or having surgery.

“Essentially, I would like to save somebody’s life. I would like to have that on my CV.”

Mr Morgan enlisted the help of a wide range of medical experts in his research, but claims the World Wide Web was his greatest asset.

“The internet is a magical thing,” he said.

“If you ask the right question, you will get the right answers. This book would not have been published without the internet.”

The self published author, who owns Simply The Best barbers in High Road, Willesden, has installed a miniature library in his shop to allow customers to read the likes of Charles Dickens while they wait.

He has previously released books on finance and religion in the past.

A copy of the book is available at online bookshops Barnes and Noble and Amazon.

An electronic kindle copy is also available.
