Welsh Harp Summer Festival is taking place on Saturday


A free event for all the community will be taking place in Neasden on Saturday.

Welsh Harp Summer Festival, a social action project backed by Black Training and Enterprise Group and the three ward’s three Labour councillors Harbi Farah, Amer Agha and Roxanne Mashari.

Cllr Farah said: “We want to empower young people by giving real life practical experience – this event will set the tone for the future.”

Businessman Atul Pathak has paid for the stage for performers and will provide a number of McDonald’s team members for youngsters to have their faces painted and for balloons to be handed out.

Mr Pathak, the managing director of Appt Corp which is the franchisee of 29 McDonald’s including several in Brent, said: “We always love to support local events, especially when they are being set up by young people.

“I was honoured we were asked to help such a brilliant initiative and delighted to do as much as we can to make it a successful festival.”

The festival, which includes a treasure hunt and an open mic session, will take place in Neasden Recreation Ground from noon to 4pm.
