QPR manager Harry Redknapp fears he would be priced out of a move for Tottenham winger Andros Townsend.
Townsend enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Loftus Road last season, scoring twice in 12 games during Rangers’ ultimately unsuccessful bid to stay in the Premier League.
Redknapp wants to add creative options to his side and sees Townsend as the answer, but believes the club would be unable to meet Tottenham’s asking price for the 22-year-old.
Redknapp said: “I couldn’t see us being able to buy him, I think he would be too expensive for us. Andros did great last season but Tottenham don’t want to sell him as far as I know.”
However, the QPR boss admitted that he would welcome the chance to bring Townsend back to Loftus Road in another loan deal. “I’d love to loan him, but whether they would do that I’m not sure,” he said.
