A leisure centre in Sudbury will be hosting an overnight swimming event to raise funds for a blood cancer charity.

Anyone who goes for a dip at Vale Farm Sports Centre on July 13 between 10pm and 6am will be asked to make a donation to the Anthony Nolan Trust.

The sports halls will also be available for hire overnight on the same day with the fees also going to the charity.

The one-off event at the centre in Watford Road, coincides with its new 24 hour gym opening times during the summer which were introduced last month.

Chris Williams, the centre’s manager, said: “The 24 hour opening times have so far been a huge success and we hope the overnight swim will be as popular and help us raise lots of money.”
