Michel Platini and other big names visit St Gregory’s School
Some of football biggest names came to Brent this morning to open a brand new football pitch in the borough.
Michel Platini, UEFA president, Trevor Brooking, former England international and FA Director of Football Development and Bobby Zamora, Fulham and England striker, unveiled a new 5-a-side facility at St Gregory’s Science College, in Donnington Road, Kenton.
Cllr Aslam Choudry, Mayor of Brent, and Cllr Ann John, Brent Council leader, also attended the opening ceremony, which was completed when Mr Platini scored a penalty.
Tomorrow (Saturday) sees the first UEFA Champions League final at Wembley since the National Stadium re-opened in 2007.
