Rs bring in American on deal until end of season, but have mutually terminated contract of Northern Ireland forward

Queens Park Rangers have signed Geoff Cameron on loan from Sky Bet Championship rivals Stoke City until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old American, who can play in defence or midfield, becomes QPR’s third loan signing of the summer.

Cameron adds experience to the Rs squad and the ex-Houston Dynamo man cannot wait to get started in west London.

“I decided over the summer that I wanted a change and something new. The boss here (Steve McClaren) has been interested in me before and I’m excited to play for him,” he told the club website.

“He wanted me here which is always a big part when they believe in your ability. I want to help the team and get us up the table.

“I’m the guy that does the dirty work. I’m not the flashiest of players, I try to read the game and get the ball to the guys that can score the goals!”

While Cameron has joined the west Londoners, striker Conor Washington has left the Rs after his contract was terminated by mutual consent.

After joining from Peterborough United in January 2016, the Northern Ireland international went on to make 98 appearances for QPR in all competitions, scoring 14 goals.
