Top of the class GCSE marks for students at Preston Manor School in Wembley

The school in Carlton Avenue East, Wembley, saw a nine per cent increase on 2012 with 66 per cent of students achieving five A* to C grades, including English and maths.

Aspiring super car designer D’Andre Phillips, 16, was overwhelmed and relieved with his A* in ICT, B grades in the sciences and a C in business.

D’Andre will be going to the City of Westminster College to study for a BTEC diploma in ICT.

Diana Orfani, 16 was delighted to pass all of her GCSEs.

“I feel really relieved after all the stress,” said Diana who is joining a media course at Harrow College and hopes to be a journalist in the future.

Ramya Gocouladasse, 16 achieved a staggering 10 A*s and an A in statistics.

She said: “I was kind of surprised, I was expecting to do worse.”

Her mother, Selvy Gocouladasse, added: “I am very happy and I really, from the bottom of my heart want to thank the teachers for all the support they have given my daughter.”

Ramya is joining the sixth form at Preston Manor to study A levels in further maths, chemistry, history and physics and hopes to study engineering at university.

Sasaan Keshtmand, 16, said he was “ecstatic” with his four A*s and seven As.

“It’s the happiest point of my life,” he said.

Sasaan will go on to study A level economics, maths, biology and chemistry at St Dominics Sixth Form College in Harrow.

Aspiring actress Renae Prince, 16, said she was “ecstatic” with her six A*s, four As and a B.

“I am really happy with everything,” she said.

“I was kind of expecting it.”

Renae will be staying on at Preston Manor to study A levels in drama, English literature, government and politics and history.

She would like to study drama and English literature at university but says she is “torn between the two.”

On potentially becoming an actress, she said: “It’s a difficult trade to get into, I need a back up plan so English literature is good for me.”

Dwayne Counsell, 16 achieved eight A*s and three As.

“I’m ecstatic, I’m speechless,” said Dwayne who is staying at Preston Manor to study biology, chemistry, history and physics and hopes become a doctor.

Suli Eni, 16, also would like to be a doctor and is well on her way with nine A*s and two As.

“I’m so happy, I’m so relieved,” said Suli.

Suli will study for A levels in biology, chemistry, economics and psychology at Preston Manor.

Usmaan Bhatti, 16, said he was “happy and relieved” to get five A*s and and five As in his GCSEs and will join Preston Manor’s sixth form to study A levels in biology, chemistry, maths and physics.

Kai Page, 16, achieved five A*s and six As.

“It’s not the worst,” she said. “It’s great, I’m thrilled.”

Kai is unsure about her future occupation but for now she is staying on at school to study A levels in biology, chemistry, further maths and history.

Matthew Lantos, head teacher, said: “These results reflect the hard work of students and staff and the support of families.

“We are very proud of the increases in attainment particularly when I consider the challenges that many of our students have overcome to achieve these grades.”
