Review of The Year

Anyone who can spend as much time in the company of Cheryl Cole as Will.i.am has this year and still come out with enough credibility left to launch an album that starts with the theme from Dirty Dancing is obviously way ahead of the pack.

Of course hearing Fergie sing Time Of My Life is always going to be preferable to listening to Jennifer Warnes, especially when followed by the words Dirty Bit, but it is still right on the line.

The immediacy of the album is as breathtaking as the quality of the lyrics. The number of potential hits matches that of The E.N.D.

But the epic Don’t Stop The Party is likely to be the one that will ultimately gain the most airplay.
