We would like to offer our complete solidarity and support to the outstanding teachers and support staff at The Village School, who have been forced to take action to safeguard the long-term security of their jobs.
We urge the management of The Village School to initiate for staff members full written protection of existing employment policies, including full protection of existing trade union policies.
We at Citizens Advice will miss Lesley terribly
Jacqueline Carr, chief executive, Citizens Advice Brent, writes:
We were all very sorry to learn of Cllr Lesley Jones’ untimely death.
Cllr Jones was a huge supporter of the Citizens Advice service and held her surgeries at our office whilst the one used by the local councillors’ was being
refurbished.
She was always willing to help in any way she could and made numerous suggestions for fundraising.
We worked together most recently on one of the Children’s Centres Locality Boards of which she was chair, one of the many positions she held.
We would often talk about her various activities and she was full of enthusiasm for the work that she intended to do were she to be re-elected, such was her determination to ensure that people’s rights were upheld.
We will miss her.
