The St Luke’s Summer Proms programme by the hospice in Kenton Road will host a range of concerts ranging from traditional proms celebrations to jazz and opera in some of the most beautiful and historic settings in Harrow.

The BBC Elstree Concert Band and the world renowned Leonore Piano Trio will entertain crowds in July to help raise money for hospice care.

Simon Frais, concerts manager for the BBC Elstree Concert Band for which he plays the horn, said: “We are opening the Summer Proms Series with our story of the Proms. The St Luke’s Summer Proms is a wonderful event which brings joy to the audience and raises money for a wonderful cause. It has fantastic music, is fun and it’s unmissable.

I am proud to support such a vital cause and a wonderful local asset.”

Rachelle Goldberg, a proms volunteer committee member and piano player, said: “There are many residents in the wider community that enjoy concert going. The Summer Proms provide a variety of styles of music from jazz to classical so we try and cover a broad range. It is a marvellous opportunity to enjoy performances in the knowledge that you are raising money for such a wonderful cause.

She added: “Music is such a great therapy. People benefit from it by being able to relax, be more carefree and it helps to bring back enjoyable memories. St Luke’s offers first rate care, attention, and support to those who are ill and give excellent attention and support to relatives at such a difficult time.’

Summer Proms tickets are £20 for the in-door concerts and start from £10 for the open air concert. Find out more at stlukes-hospice.org/summerproms or phone 020 8382 8112.
