A charitable duo organising a pub night in Kilburn to help a four-year-old girl raise £30,000 for a life-changing operation have just released tickets for the event.
DJ Esther Jones and musician Tom Murray will join forces at the Good Ship in Kilburn High Road, on March 13 from 6pm-12am ,to help Bailey Walters-Lawrence.
The youngster, who lives in Gorefield Place, Kilburn, needs the funds to pay for spinal treatment by April.
The event aims to raise as much as possible for Bailey’s surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The night will also be attended by Lorraine King, digital news editor of the Brent & Kilburn Times, who will be spinning vintage soul tracks in a dedicated DJ set.
Bailey, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was due to undergo selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) to ease crippling spasms in her legs only for her mother to be told funding for the clinical trial could no longer be found and she would have to raise the money herself.
Advance tickets cost £6 via the event Facebook page here or £7 on the door and will be limited to 240 guests.
A percentage of the bar takings as well as prizes and venue hire will be donated by the Good Ship.
Proceeds from night of music, raffles and DJ sets will go towards the £6,000 that has already been raised on Bailey’s JustGiving page since the Brent & Kilburn Times launched the campaign last Thursday.
The team are asking residents and local businesses to add their names to the guest list or donate raffle prizes by joining the Bailey’s Wish facebook event page.Ms Jones is also appealing for 30 volunteers to ask 100 friends to pledge £10 in a bid to hit Bailey’s funding target by April 1.
She said: “Everyone should come down on the night- we have some great artists and raffle prizes like clothing and VIP club nights.
“Please help this little girl to have her operation so she has a chance of walking without pain and without her wheelchair.
“If 30,000 gave just £1 or 30 people persuade 100 friends to donate £10 we’d be able to give Bailey the chance she deserves.”
