Sunday opening hours and new home for post office in Harlesden

A post office in Harlesden has found a new home and will be the second in the borough to open on Sundays.
The Post Office is opening a new Craven Park Post Office (CPPO) ‘local’ service at the Corner Shop in Craven Park Road, although a date is yet to be confirmed.
The service will be provided at an open-plan counter position integrated into the retail counter, instead of from a separate screened counter, which will allow much longer opening hours.
With Post Office hours increasing by an extra 62 hours a week, the services will be available from 7am- 11pm Monday to Friday and from 7:30am-10pm on Saturday and Sunday.
The new design includes adequate space for wheelchair users inside and there will also be a hearing loop at the counter.
Residents will be able to enjoy all the usual services including special delivery, home connect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
They will also be able to make withdrawals using a Post Office card account, send funds abroad using Moneygram, pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
All staff will be trained to Post Office professional standards of service and security.
Will Russell, regional manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.
He added: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”
Posters are being displayed inside the present CPPO at 118 Craven Park Road to advise customers of when the move will take place.
The post office located inside Tesco Wembley Extra in Neasden, currently opens on a Sunday.
