Sarah Teather stormed to a stunning and historic victory this morning as the General Election result finally came in at 10.50am.
Liberal Democrat Ms Teather won the Brent Central seat with 20,026 votes, pushing Labour's Dawn Butler into second place on 18,681.
An exhausted Ms Teather, who waited nervously at the count with the Brent candidates for late announcement, said: "I'm delighted. It's wonderful. It's such a great honour to be elected for the people of Brent Central.
