A HOMOSEXUAL shop worker was stabbed to death before his killers covered his body with moisturiser and fled with thousands of pounds worth of loot, a court heard.

The body of Dilip Unadkat, was discovered in his flat in Alexandra Court, Empire Way, Wembley, on November 27 last year.

The Old Bailey heard claims that Ahmed El-Shubrawy, 27, and Sami Salama, 36, stabbed the 48-year-old four times in the head and once in the lung.

Mr Unadkat had also been restrained with a ligature and his body covered in anti-ageing cream after he died.

El-Shubrawy and Salama were captured on CCTV entering the dead man's block of flats on November 25 at around noon.

The same cameras picked the men up leaving three hours later with three suitcases.

The court heard the luggage was full of valuables including more than 9,000 gold family heirlooms which Mr Unadkat had brought home from India just weeks before his death.

Following the killing Salama lavished his girlfriend with rings and necklaces and paid for meals out and hotel stays, before fleeing London.

Prosecutor Mark Heywood told jurors: "These two went there to steal or rob.

"By the time they had left they had gathered up all of his belongings, all those which interested the two, including the gold.

"They had loaded them in to three suitcases which he owned and in turn they calmly trundled them away down the street.

"As they did so they left the almost naked body of Mr Unadkat lying on the bedroom floor with five devastating stab wounds to the front of his chest."

Mr Unadkat's body was discovered after concerned relatives contacted the police.

Salama from Birmingham, and El-Shubrawy, from Perivale, deny murder.

The trial continues.
