Some residents in Kensal Green will be celebrating after their town hall announced it will be freezing its council tax this year.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council are the only local authority in London to announce bills will not increase despite the government giving them the green light to do so to fund crippling social care costs.
Cllr Stephen Cowan, leader of the council, said: “We know how tough times have got for our residents which is why I’m pleased that we’re the most effective council tax-cutting administration in the country.
“We’re taking a hard-nosed approach to council finances which includes ruthlessly changing custom and practices and modernising how the council operates so it delivers more help for more people and improves customer satisfaction.”
Several roads in Kensal Green are in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
However in the Brent part of Kensal Green residents are facing a council tax hike of 4.99 per cent.
