The six-month-old pups, who have been named Rolo, Minstrel, Bounty, Skittles, Cadbury and Twirl with an apparent disregard for trademark legislation, were brought into Mayhew in Trenmar Gardens because their previous owner was unable to cope with looking after them.

Staff at the charity gave them bath and a full check-up including flea and worm treatment. They were later vaccinated and neutered.

The charity’s dog adoption officer, Lisa Guiney, said: “They have different personalities – some are more confident and playful than others, but they are all adorable and just looking for a safe new place that they can call home.

“We are looking for adopters who have plenty of time on their hands to continue with their training and socialisation, so they can all grow up to be well-behaved adult dogs.”
