A Brent temple has held a series of soup kitchens and donated clothes and food to the homeless as part of a humanitarian project.

Youth members of the Shree Swaminarayan Temple Willesden in Willesden Lane, led the scheme which took place to help the less fortunate.

On February 3, 10 and on Monday, food was prepared at the temple kitchen before being transported to Holborn where the special stalls were set up.

Donated clothing and dried foods were also given to the homeless.

The temple has held a number of charity events including a walk between Kenton to Willesden for Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital which raised more than £25,000, a sponsored silence which collected £8,000 for the Bhuj Earthquake, a bike ride in support of Awareness for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research which raised £4,000.
