Cricklewood is set to come alive this weekend with the annual Cricklewood Festival, with a flock of sculpted sheep set to drop in.
This year’s festival will celebrate the only public green space in the town being listed as an Asset of Community Value (ACV) after campaigning by residents.
This year’s theme is a vision of rural Cricklewood. Sculptor Alistair Lambert will unveil a flock of sheep, and the green space will be transformed with hay bales and picnic areas.
The programme of music and dance will include Panache Steel Band. Gentlemen Tim and The Contenders will also bring their style of Chicago blues and West Coast swing to the event.
Saturday’s festival will also host a large children’s corner, and will run from 12pm to 5pm.
The Cricklewood Festival is organised by volunteer group, the Cricklewood Town Team. It was originally funded by the 2014 London mayor’s Outer London Fund, and has been continued with sponsorship from local businesses and support from local groups.
