Severe weather warning issued as snowfalls hit Brent

Up to 20 cm of snow expected on Saturday

A severe weather warning has been issued by the Met Office after forecasters warned that up to 5cm of snow could fall today.

Snow has already fallen across Brent, and experts expect the blizzard-like conditions to worsen tomorrow with up to 20cm of snow expected in parts.

The Met Office is advising people to take care when out, and refer to the Highways Agency before travelling on roads.

Gritting vans have been out in force in a bid to de-ice the borough’s roads, and all priority streets have been salted overnight.
