Aspiring actors and film lovers are invited to question TV star Samuel West at a question and answer session in Kensal Rise.
The actor and theatre director will be at the Lexi Cinema in Chamberlayne Road on October 23 which is screening The Acting Class, a documentary on the struggles of breaking into the industry, at 6.30pm.
The film, starring Christopher Eccleston, Julie Hesmondhalgh and Maxine Peake, explores why actors from working class backgrounds are being squeezed out of the profession.
Rising costs for education and training, juggling paid employment with long spells of not acting, the stars explain how they manage to break through with aspiring unknown people telling of their battles highlighting what’s changed.
Sam, who’s starred in Howards End, Notting Hill and Mr Selfridge, said: “Training needs to be made as affordable as possible to as wide a range of people as possible.”
