Brent Council’s cabinet members have been revealed.
Two new councillors Harbi Farah (Welsh Harp) and Cllr Wilhelmina Mitchell Murray (Wembley Central) have joined the six current members following the resignation of Cllr Ruth Moher and Cllr James Denselow from their posts.
Cllr Muhammed Butt (Tokyngton) will continue as the leader of the council following a victorious leadership battle with his ex-deputy Cllr Michael Pavey (Barnhill), who has been named as Cllr Denselow’s successor.
Cllr Margaret McLennan is the new deputy leader. Her previous role was as the lead member for housing which has now been taken over by Cllr Harbi Farah (Welsh Harp).
Cllr Roxanne Mashari (Welsh Harp) continues in her current post as lead member for regeneration, growth, employment and skills as does Cllr Krupesh Hirani (Dudden Hill) as lead member for community wellbeing and Cllr Eleanor Southwood (Queen’s Park) as lead member for environment.
Cllr Wilhelmina Mitchell Murray (Wembley Central) is the new lead member for children and young people which was previously held by Cllr Moher.
Cllr Butt said: “This is a strong cabinet with a broad mix of talents and experience across a variety of areas.
“As a cabinet, we are determined to work harder than ever to drive forward our ambitious agenda to improve the lives of Brent residents despite the continued challenges we are facing.”
