Residents in Kenton are upset that a ‘beautiful house’ is to be destroyed with three homes built in its place and the toll it will take on their cul-de-sac.
Brent Council’s planning committee gave the green light this week for 25 Brookfield Crescent to be demolished and replaced with two two-bedroom houses and a three-bedroom house. At the meeting Trudi Samji, who has lived next door for 34 years, told the Times: “The house has a lot of character and there used to be a beautiful rose garden there.”
Her husband Amir added: “It was the only house when we moved here 34 years ago, a beautiful detached house. The new houses won’t have that character.”
Devaangi Shah, who lives on the street, said: “It’s really sad.”
