Resident associations in Brent are being encouraged to network within their communities to improve relationships.

The Resident Network Group is a quarterly networking group where representatives of the Brent Housing Partnership (BHP) Resident Associations can form a collective voice and improve their work in the community. On July 1, the Group held an award ceremony at the Roundwood Youth Centre which recognised some of the people and associations involved in the project. The Groves residents association, London NW9 won the Inspirational Residents Association award for over 20 years of community work. Sheila Perry, Chair of The Groves Residents Association was recognised for her outstanding commitment to The Groves residents in recognition of her 20 years of service working along side all residents making their lives easier, and always making sure the elderly and vulnerable are looked after. The Seymour Court resident sssociation and St Raphael’s resident assocation also won plaudits. Meanwhile Jeanette Audrey of Windmill Court and Mary Mechan from the Groves were also acknowledged for their work, in front of a host of Brent councillors and the Mayor of Brent.

The Group hope to achieve wider representation across associations in Brent so that the residents of BHP council estates and street properties can work together to improve our homes and communities. They would also like to ensure that they have a formal structure going forward in line with the councils plan for future resident engagement.
