Ram-raiders carry out smash-and-grab robbery at jewellers in Kingsbury

Ram-raiders riding motorbikes and wielding weapons have carried out a smash-and-grab robbery at a jewellers in Kingsbury this afternoon.

The six-strong gang smashed their way through the store’s windows before snatching thousands of pounds worth of Asian gold jewellery in Kingsbury Road just after 2pm.

They fled on their bikes.

Police are currently at the scene and one man was arrested nearby on suspicion of armed robbery.

He is at a police station in north London.

Road closures and bus diversions are currently in place.

Detectives from the Flying Squad are leading the investigation.
