Entertainment pulls in the crowds to Kilburn Grange Park

Festival fever gripped Kilburn on Sunday as hundreds of revellers pulled on their wellies and donned their waterproofs to celebrate Kilburn Festival.

Despite the rain, families enjoyed listening to live music, eating food from around the world and visiting stalls run by community groups.

The Times had its own stall handing out newspapers and selling books with proceeds being donated to help keep the festival running in the future.

This year the theme of the day was the five continents of Kilburn to reflect the five Olympic rings in the run-up to the London 2012 Games.

Janet Grauberg, chairman of Trustees of The Kilburn Festival Charity, said: “I think it went really well. Everyone had a great time.

“Nobody let the weather get in the way. There was great music on both stages and lots of stalls.

“Many of them said they will be back next year which is great. All money raised will go towards keeping the Kilburn Festival going.

“Special thanks must also go to our sponsors and we hope to see everyone back next year and some sunshine.”

Anybody who took photos of the event are being asked to upload them onto the festival’s Facebook page and Twitter site.
