A quiet cycle route linking Gladstone Park with Kilburn has been opened.

Quietway 3 is a 3km stretch running through Gladstone Park before connecting to Willesden Green station along Park Avenue.

It then continues along Chatsworth Road towards Kilburn station.

Improved crossings in Walm Lane and Mapesbury Road and a new cycling and walking path through Gladstone Road are part of the scheme,

Transport for London (TfL) worked with Brent Council and Sustrans to deliver the new section of the capital’s 250km cycle network, which bosses want in place by 2022.

The town hall’s environment chief Cllr Eleanor Southwood said: “We’re committed to encouraging even more people to either discover the joys of cycling for the first time, or return to pedal after a break, so the new Quietway cycle route is really welcome.”

Quietways are aimed at cyclists who prefer quieter streets. They typically follow back streets, canals and parks.
