Winger leaves QPR after 18 months at Loftus Road

Queens Park Rangers have sold midfielder Yeni N’Gbakoto to French Ligue One outfit Guingamp for an undisclosed fee.

The DR Congo international joined the Rs in August 2016 from Metz and went on to make 36 appearances in all competitions for the west Londoners, scoring five goals.

Last season, N’Gbakoto won the Loftus Road club’s goal of the season award for his stunning free-kick in a 4-1 win at Birmingham City in the Championship.

However, the 25-year-old has found himself out of favour this term, appearing in just eight matches in total.

That led to speculation that N’Gbakoto would return to France, which has since come to fruition with the move to Guingamp.

The winger’s departure could well see the likes Paul Smyth, who impressed on his debut on New Year’s Day, and Ebere Eze, who impressed on a recent loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers, given more chances in the first team.
