Rs looking for second successive win in league after beating Sunderland on Saturday

Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway says he will think long and hard about who to pick for his team’s game at Aston Villa in the Championship.

The Rs were in action on Saturday, edging to a 1-0 win at home to bottom-club Sunderland.

Against the Villans, though, the west Londoners will come up against a team at the right end of the table and full of confidence.

With Steve Bruce’s boys having lost just once at home in the league all term, Holloway’s men face a tough task at Villa Park.

But the QPR boss knows the best way to ensuring his team can get something out of their trip to the Midlands is by picking the best team for the job.

“I have to look at the lads and see who is fresh, I need runners and chasers in the right areas because realistically they will have more of the ball than us,” he told the club website.

“Everyone is playing their part for us right now which is great, but it also makes it difficult for me when it comes to picking the team.

“It is going to be a tough test for us. Villa Park is a difficult place to go when they are singing.

“The pitch is huge, but I like the way we are trying to pass it, and I think we will have a bit of confidence about us.”

Holloway turned 55 on Monday and hopes QPR’s game at Villa gives him reason to continue his celebrations.

“I have to say to stand here as manager of QPR as a 55-year-old is a great place to be,” he added.

“If I’d have done a wishlist years ago I couldn’t have asked for much more – perhaps being 30 points clear at the top would have been nice, but unfortunately that’s not the case!”
