QPR youngster to spend remainder of season with U’s

Queens Park Rangers youngster Mide Shodipo has joined League Two outfit Colchester United on loan until the end of the season.

After coming through the youth ranks at the Rs, the winger made his first-team debut for the west Londoners against Leeds United on the opening day of the 2016/17 season.

The 20-year-old has made 14 appearances in all competitions for the Loftus Road outfit, but is yet to appear for Ian Holloway’s men this term.

The Republic of Ireland youth international had a spell on loan at Port Vale in League One last term, playing six times for the Valiants.

Having joined the U’s on loan until the end of the current campaign, Shodipo will hope to get more minutes under his belt.

By making the temporary switch to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, Shodipo will link up with Brandon Comley, who left QPR to join Colchester permanently earlier this month.
