QPR midfielder recognised for stellar displays in October
Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo has been nominated for the PFA Bristol Street Motors Fans’ Championship Player of the Month award for October.
The Australian international stood in for regular captain Nedum Onuoha and led QPR to an unbeaten month in October.
The 25-year-old made more tackles (18) than any other player in the division during the month as the west Londoners collected eight points from a possible 12.
After earning 1-1 draws at Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers, Ian Holloway’s men beat Wolverhampton Wanderers and Sheffield United at home, with Luongo leading by example from the heart of midfield.
Also up for the award are Sammy Ameobi (Bolton), Leo Bonatini, Diogo Jota (both Wolves), Bruno Ecuele Manga (Cardiff City) and Lewis Grabban (Sunderland).
Fans can vote for the winner at www.footballfancast.com/pfa-awards, with voting open until 8am on November 8.
September’s award saw Wolves attacker Jota recognised for his displays in the early part of the campaign.
