Rs suffered 2-1 defeat at Championship leaders Wolves on Saturday

Queens Park Rangers youngster Ebere Eze admits the 2-1 loss at Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers was one of the toughest games of the season so far.

The Rs trailed by two goals at the break at Molineux after first Alfred N’Diaye and then Helder Costa struck for Wolves.

Just six minutes into the second half, though, QPR pulled one back in acrobatic fashion through Conor Washington.

Ian Holloway’s men pushed hard for an equaliser in the remainder of the match, but were unable to find one.

It was a spirited effort from the Loftus Road side in defeat and Eze, who came on as a substitute for James Perch in the 42nd minute, says Wolves offered a difficult challenge.

“It was probably one of the hardest games we’ve played. They seemed to have a man extra in loads of places where you wouldn’t want them to,” the 19-year-old told the club website.

“I thought we did well and tried our best to keep with them and keep going throughout the whole game, which was good.

“There were a few times when I tried to get on the ball in the pockets which they left.

“There was quite a lot of space in the game and I thought that I maybe could have exploited that a bit more, but it was fun.”

Eze has become a regular in the matchday squads for QPR in recent weeks after returning from a successful loan spell with League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers.

Since returning to west London in January, the forward has made four appearances from the bench, though the one at Wolves was by far the longest.

The youngster says he is enjoying playing with the first team and says he hopes for more opportunities to impress in the coming weeks.

“It’s very good and very fun. I’m enjoying every moment of playing for the first-team,” he added.

“I’m trying to push and trying to get in that team, trying to start as many games as I can, which is the main thing.”

“The senior players are giving me a lot of advice all the time, telling me to keep going and keep the mind right, which is the main thing.

“It’s not just about playing, it’s about being on it at all times and ready when you do get on the pitch.”
