Queens Park Community School was today celebrating its best ever set of GCSE results, bucking the national trend in the process.
66 percent of students achieved five or more A* to C grades, including maths and english, while 28pc of GCSE entries were awarded A* or A. The national average for A* and A grades has fallen slightly to 21.7pc this year.
And new headteacher Judith Enright, who is yet to take charge of a school year, was quick to praise her new students for all their hard work.
“It is lovely to see how happy the students are at everything they have achieved,” she said.
“They support each other really well, and that is why they are choosing to stay at Queen’s Park for the Sixth Form. I am very excited to be joining the school at this time, to build on this success and the work of Mike Hulme.”
