Cllr James Denselow will be taking part in the London Marathon in April in aid of Jerusalem Hospital.

The Labour councillor for Queen’s Park is no stranger to the 26.2 mile challenge as he ran the Bournemouth marathon for the Mayhew Animal home in Kensal Green last year.

He told the Times: “I’m proud to be able to do my bit to support the work of this great hospital. St John Eye Hospital is the only low-cost centre for expert eye care in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem and they treat patients regardless of ethnicity, religion or ability to pay.

“I’ve been lucky to visit the hospital when I worked in the Middle East and have seen for myself the important work they do and spoken to the patients who’ve had their sight saved by the hospital’s doctors”.

Cllr Denselow hopes to raise more than £1,250.
