There’s no keeping a Queen’s Park councillor away from charitable fundraising as he heads abroad to run his ninth marathon.
Cllr James Denselow is running the Paris Marathon on April 8 with all proceeds going to the Mayhew in Trenmar Gardens, Kensal Green.
He has raised more than £17,800 for all the charities he has run for in the past which includes Save the Children’s Syrian emergency response in Brighton last year.
It is his third outing for the Mayhew running a marathon first in Bournemouth in 2013 then again in the New Forest in 2016.
He said: “I’m taking on my first overseas Marathon this year and my second in support of the fantastic Mayhew Animal Home. I’ve been lucky enough to have visited the centre and seen the work they do for all creatures great and small as well seeing how well they cared for my cats; Luna and Zola. I full support their mission statement to work towards a society where animals are treated and cared for with respect”.
