A park in Brent has been named as one of the best green spaces in the UK for the 17th year in a row.

Queen’s Park has been awarded Green Flag status for its excellent use of green space, well-maintained facilities and high standards of safety and security.

The 30-acre park, which has been managed by the City of London Corporation since 1886, contains six all-weather tennis courts, a pitch-and-putt course, a petanque pitch, an ornamental garden and a children’s playground with paddling pool and a café.

Jeremy Simons, Chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Queen’s Park Management Committee said: “I am delighted that Queen’s Park has once again been recognised as one of the best run and well-loved open spaces in the UK.

“It is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff and volunteers who work throughout the year to maintain and protect the Park, for both present and future generations to enjoy.”
