QPR midfielder Niko Kranjcar says the Championship side would become unbeatable if they were to sign striker Jermain Defoe from Spurs.

Rangers manager Harry Redknapp wants to bring in Defoe on a short-term deal, before the 31-year-old forward completes his move from White Hart Lane to MLS side FC Toronto.

The MLS transfer window opens on February 12, but before then Redknapp wants to sign Defoe to add firepower to his promotion-challenging side.

And Kranjcar, who played alongside Defoe at Tottenham, says his former team-mate would make a big impact at Loftus Road. “Jermain is a fantastic striker, probably the best striker I have played with,” said Kranjcar. “I’d definitely like to see him here.

“I think we would win every game if he came in - that’s how good I think he is.”

Redknapp confirmed on Friday that he would like to do a short-term deal with Spurs, saying: “We’d love to have him here, even if it was for only six weeks or so. He could come in and score you 10 goals I’m sure, he’s that good. He can do a job for anybody.”

Spurs, however, are reluctant to part with Defoe, who was on target in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday. Apart from Defoe, Tottenham have only Emmanuel Adebayor, Harry Kane and the underwhelming Roberto Soldado to compete for places up front.
