QPR star bears no grudge against Manchester City

Onuoha relishes clash against his old side

Nedum Onuoha insists he bears no ill-feeling towards Manchester City as he prepares to head back to his former club on Sunday.

The 25-year-old defender spent eight years with City, but fell out of favour and was loaned out to Sunderland before joining Rangers on a four-and-a-half year deal in January.

And as he awaits the trip back to his boyhood heroes, Onuoha believes Roberto Mancini’s side have already established themselves as a dominant force in English football.

“Some of the people I met there I was lucky to work with, some of them are friends for life and I don’t have any bad feeling towards the club. I’m happy with them being successful,” said Onuoha.

“City are one of the top two clubs and it will probably be that way for a long time to come,” he added. “There is a lot more to come from them. It is a shame I couldn’t be part of it but I have my own career to focus on as well.”

And Onuoha believes there can be no more excuses for the Rs, whose poor away record in recent months has been at odds with their performances at their tight, compact Loftus Road home.
