QPR loan signing Tom Carroll is set for several weeks on the sidelines after returning to parent club Tottenham for treatment on an ankle injury.
The 21-year-old midfielder suffered the injury early in the first half of England Under-21s’ 5-0 win over Lithuania on Tuesday night.
He will miss Rangers’ trip to Millwall on Saturday, and will also be a doubt for the upcoming trips to Burnley and Wigan Athletic.
“He’s not available, he’s gone back to Tottenham for a few weeks, so we’re going to miss him for a little while now,” said QPR manager Harry Redknapp. “It’s a blow, he’s been excellent for us. We hope he won’t be out for too long but it will certainly be a few weeks.”
Winger Junior Hoilett is fit and could feature against the Lions, while Matt Phillips is close to full fitness and should make Redknapp’s squad for the trip to the Den. Striker Andy Johnson and central defender Nedum Onuoha are set to miss out through injury.
