Rs head into international break unbeaten in their last two in the league

Angel Rangel says Queens Park Rangers will go into the international break in a positive frame of mind after taking four points from their last two games.

The Rs drew 1-1 at home to Derby County last Saturday, which followed a 1-0 win at Reading the previous Tuesday.

With no game until the Loftus Road outfit visit Ipswich Town on October 20, defender Rangel and his colleagues can reflect on their recent positive results.

And with Steve McClaren’s men now five points clear of the relegation zone, the 35-year-old feels there is a food atmosphere at QPR.

Rangel told the club website: “We have a positive feeling here.

“We wanted to give the fans a win against Derby, but it is a positive result and hopefully we can go again after the international break.”

The recent positive results have followed a run of three straight defeats in all competitions for QPR.

That poor run included a defeat at Rangel’s old club Swansea City, but the Spaniard is pleased with how the west Londoners responded to those defeats.

“After the Swansea defeat, we went to Reading with the thought in our minds that we can’t lose that game,” he added.

“We had to try and get the three points and we did that. To get another point against Derby meant it was a positive week and a good way to finish a busy spell.”
