NEIL Warnock charged his QPR side with looking ‘too comfortable’ after they fought out a dreary stalemate at the KC Stadium on Saturday.

Rangers looked the better team in the first half, but it needed two good saves from Paddy Kenny – and a wasteful miss from Hull’s Matty Fryatt – to assure them of a point in the latter stages.

Warnock, somewhat unfairly, labelled the Tigers’ approach as overly defensive, saying: “I was surprised that they put the bus in front of the goal and got bodies behind the ball – I don’t think they ever looked like winning the game.

“We dominated for 80 minutes but the final pass was poor – we didn’t make enough in the box and the urgency wasn’t there to win the game. We were too comfortable.”

The QPR boss certainly had a case on the basis of the first period – it wasn’t until the half-time whistle was approaching that Kenny had to exert himself, diving to his right to keep out Cameron Stewart’s low attempt.

Rangers’ best chance fell to Kaspars Gorkss, who prodded a first-time effort over the crossbar after Brad Guzan had palmed Adel Taarabt’s corner straight at the centre-back.

Ishmael Miller, who rose from his sickbed to lead the line, did find the net on the half-hour, but was correctly ruled offside and also dabbed a shot tamely into Guzan’s hands after Wayne Routledge had set up the chance.

Bradley Orr might also have put Rangers in front, twice making late runs into the Hull penalty area to meet deep crosses but failing to direct his headers on target.

At the other end, Gorkss and Matthew Connolly ensured that Hull were largely restricted to long-range potshots – most of them harmless, although Kenny had to claw one missile from James Harper over the bar.

The Rangers goalkeeper then denied substitute Jamie Devitt at his near post before Liam Rosenior’s ball split open the visitors’ defence in injury time and Fryatt sped through, but blazed his opportunity into the stand.
