Rs suffered a heavy defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday

Queens Park Rangers manager Steve McClaren has urged his side to give their fans something to shout about when they host Bristol City in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday night.

The Rs return to Loftus Road after a chastening 7-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

It means the west Londoners are without a win, or a point, in the league after three matches this term.

City have also started the season slowly and are yet to triumph in any competition this term after seeing a number of players depart during the summer.

But McClaren expects the Robins to still be as tough a nut to crack as they were last season when they were in contention to reach the play-offs.

“They’ve lost players, but have had that finance to reinvest and they’ve done that,” he told the club website.

“They have good players and they will be just the same as they were last season eventually.

“It’s all about us tonight though; it’s about eleven players putting a performance that the fans will get off their seats for.”

QPR will be without defender Joel Lynch for the visit of City after he sustained a head injury at West Brom on Saturday.

But McClaren is confident the Welsh international will be available for selection again sooner rather than later.

“It’s protocol when you get a head injury that you don’t return to training until the Thursday so he will miss the game, but hopefully we can get him back for Saturday,” added the former England boss.
