Harry Redknapp admits he is surprised that Brazil goalkeeper Julio Cesar is still at QPR.
Cesar has been the subject of intense transfer speculation throughout the summer, with Arsenal repeatedly reported as being on the verge of signing the 33-year-old.
However, Cesar, who joined Rangers last summer and is one of the club’s top earners, remains a QPR player, despite continued interest from a number of clubs.
Brazil manager Felipe Scolari this week confirmed that he expects Cesar to remain at Loftus Road – a situation that Redknapp admits he did not foresee.
“I’m surprised that he hasn’t gone to one of the big clubs in the world,” Redknapp said. “He’s good enough to play for anybody in the world. It’s a surprise to me that one of the big clubs have not come in and taken him.”
