A group of 11 students achieved straight A* or A grades, including deputy head boy, Sameer Baig, who achieved A* in history, with A grades in English literature and religious studies

Sameer, who has been accepted into the prestigious Oxford University to study law, said: “I am over the moon. This is a huge stepping stone for me in my academic career. I must say thank you to the school and especially my teachers who went above and beyond the call of duty to help me.”

Preet Patel, after securing A* grades in chemistry and physics and an A grade in maths, will go to study mechanical engineering at UCL, and said: “A massive thank you to all the teachers for their hard work and support. I’m so excited and proud of my results. I can’t wait to start university.”

Head girl, Rajvi Patel, who achieved A grades in biology, chemistry, economics and maths will now go on to study medicine at Queen Marys. “I am very happy with my results, all the effort that the teachers and my parents have put in for me had paid off,” she said. “I couldn’t have done this without them but I am so excited for the next year. I am going to miss this school so much!”

Headteacher Beth Kobel added: “I am so proud of our students. They work incredibly hard and achieve so much over their time at Preston Manor. Today is about celebrating their exam results and I am really pleased for them. We have had some truly brilliant results.”
