Children living in care in the borough will receive a Christmas present thanks to the generosity of Brent Police and volunteer cadets.

Officers and cadets delivered 250 gifts to Brent Civic Centre which will be distributed to the youngsters in time for Christmas Day tomorrow.

They met Gail Tolley, Brent Council’s director of children’s services and Cllr Margaret McLennan, deputy leader of the council, to hand over the gifts by the Christmas tree in the foyer.

The presents were given as part of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Christmas Tree Project 2016, which helps to provide presents to children who may otherwise not have received one last year.
