Detectives are appealing for information leading to the whereabouts of a sex offender who could be hiding in London including Brent.
Dilshad Miah, 32, from Burnley, East Lancashire, was convicted of sexually assaulting a woman in November 2013 and was given a 19 days suspended sentence and placed on the sex offenders register until December 2020.
He is being wanted after failing to inform the authorities of a change of his address.
Officers initially thought he had travelled to Rochdale or Manchester but now believe he could be in London
He is short at around 5ft tall, proportionate build with brown eyes and short dark hair.
DC Andrew Ashworth said: “Miah is a registered sex offender who has failed to notify the authorities of his whereabouts. I would strongly urge anyone who knows of his current/recent whereabouts to contact police. We believe he may well be spending time within the Bangladeshi community.
“Sex offenders are managed in the community by police and partners, a system which aims to prevent them from committing further offences. If they do not comply with the obligations of their licence or notification requirements, then we will take positive action to locate them, as we are doing in this case.”
Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
