A 30-year-old man has died after being hit by a bus in Kenton.

Emergency services were called just before 6.30pm yesterday evening to a crash involving a pedestrian on Kenton Road at the junction with Rushout Avenue.

Paramedics battled to save the life of a young man who collided with the bus.

He died at the scene 25 minutes later.

His next of kin have been informed.

Kenton Road was closed in both directions as police made enquiries.

Claire Mann, director of bus operations at Transport for London (TfL), said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who sadly died after a collision with a route 114 bus on Kenton Road.

“The emergency services attended the scene and a full investigation with the bus operator Metroline is underway.”

TfL said it is is working hard to improve bus safety, including support and training for drivers, as well as utilising new technology.

It is also redesigning London’s buses and road junctions to make them safer.

Police said there has been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information is asked to call the serious collision investigation unit on 0208 991 9555.
