A free event aiming to discuss how the sexual exploitation of girls as young as 10 by gangs can be tackled will take place in Willesden on Saturday.

‘Mind the Gap 2 - Where is the love’ at Roundwood Youth Centre in Roundwood Road, will be attended by BAFTA Award winning actor Noel Clarke and twice BRIT champion Ms Dynamite.

Davis Williams has organised the evening in response to an inquiry done by the Children’s Commission which revealed thousands of teenage girls in London are at risk of being raped and lured into situations where they are repeatedly sexually abused by boys.

Many attacks go unreported.

Mr Williams, founder of Undiluted Expressionz, a programme which encourage people to discuss controversial issues and ideas that they often face, hopes his event will explore sex, love and respect between today’s youths and will look at ways to increase the level of confidence in the today’s young people.

Key issues surrounding the attitudes and levels of confidence in teenagers will be addressed in order to promote mutual respect and positive relationships.

Mr Williams: “We have spoken to many young people who felt unsure how to address issues of both self -respect and a mutual respect for each other, and we wanted to give them an uncensored and safe environment where they could connect with other young people in open and honest dialogue.”

Entertainment during the event will include street and African dance, fashion show, performing arts and inspirational speakers including Mr Clarke and Ms Dynamite.

Ms Dynamite, whose real name is Niomi McLean-Daley, said: “I am looking forward to seeing the event grow to reach and touch the lives of young people.

“The Undiluted Expressionz event I recently attended was one of the most beautiful, special and empowering events I have witnessed in a long time.”

Mind the Gap 2 - Where is the love’ will take place on Saturday from 4pm to 10pm.
