Mental health law changes
Health professionals were briefed on new laws which will stop dangerous people working with vulnerable adults and bring in more stringent procedures to protect their rights.
Brent Council is one of the first authorities to hold talks with mental health workers over the changes in law that will come into force next April.
During the meeting, last week, Brent health experts said the new changes will have a big impact on the way social care works in the borough.

Housing centre reopens
The reception area in the borough's main residents' housing centre has just reopened after a three week refurbishment.
Mahatma Gandhi House, in Wembley Hill Road, Wembley has redesigned interview rooms, a new children's area and a new waiting area.

Advice for kids to stay safe
Children will be advised on using their gut feeling to avoid serious accidents in the home and outside during a Child Safety Week event.
St. Raphael's Community Centre, in Rainborough Close, Stonebridge and Brent's community safety officers will also give tips to parents and carers on what to teach youngsters.
The event is on June 25 at the community centre.
Training to help homeless
Housing staff are being re-trained on how to deal with unemployed and homeless people's accommodation issues.
Brent is one of six boroughs signed up to the West London Housing Employment Link Project (HELP), with the aim of getting people into work and secure lodgings.
