The new base of 11 officers opens despite fears of frontline cuts in policing
A NEW Safer Neighbourhood Team was unveiled to the community despite fears over cuts to frontline staff.
The new Wembley Central Ward SNT base, in Park Lane, Wembley, was opened on February 9 by the borough commander, Matt Gardener, and Cllr Lincoln Beswick, lead member for crime prevention and public safety.
A sergeant, two officers and eight PCSOs will be based at the office which will introduce surgeries for residents to air their concerns.
Safer Neighbourhoods Chief Inspector Taff Thomas said: “Residents and businesses of Wembley Central will feel a lot safer with police presence with in their community. I would encourage residents and businesses to approach local officers and discuss any of their concerns with them.”
